Thornton W. Burgess compares the Wood Mouse, Whitefoot, to the Meadow Mouse, Danny, in his classic “The Burgess Animal Book for Children.” He remarks that the Meadow Mouse, or Meadow Vole, is very homely compared to Whitefoot. I think he’s quite cute!
