Spring Forest Reflections Quilt

We are still less than a week away to the release of my first lap size quilt pattern, Forest Reflections! You’ll hear a little more from me throughout this week as I share some of the color ways for the quilt.

I’ll also share a special discount code with you for 20% off of the quilt pattern!

Spring Quilt Top

Forest Reflections is made up of Flying Geese units and that may lead you to think that they should only be representing evergreen trees, but with this Spring Palette I think you will see how surprisingly versatile the quilt block is.

My main goal for this color way was to capture the beauty and excitement of cherry blossom trees. Living in the midwest, we spend a lot of time watching for signs of spring and it enlightens all of our senses when we start seeing our beautiful trees burst open with flower buds. Just down the road from our house, the city planted a row of cherry trees on both sides of the main road and it’s a joy for me to drive through it during the spring.

I love that this quilt is versatile. This particular palette is very welcome to my heart after a long winter of browns and grays outside.

I got my fabric here: Warman Cozy Quilts in Barrington, IL

For the backing, I found Piecework by Anna Maria Textiles- Flying Geese Meadow and it was the perfect combination for the quilt top colors.

Quilting

I don’t have the binding or finishing details for this one yet because I handed it off to my friend Ligia from Dearly Quilted to quilt for me.

I’ll make sure to update this post once I have it back so that you can see the quilting and binding.

Next, I’ll show you what’s in store for Fall with this quilt!

I’ll see you Around the Spinney,
